Our instructors hold enhanced DBS and child protection certificates and are qualified first aiders, as well as having many other professional qualifications from National Governing Bodies.
The pictures below show members of our permanent team, but you may see other seasonal instructors during the summer months.
Darren first came to Woodlands Adventure in 2004. He was promoted to Senior Instructor in 2011, Deputy Manager in 2015 and Centre Manager in 2017. Previous to Woodlands, Darren was a football coach, adapting his skills to the outdoor sector.
Darren enjoys all of the off ground activities and plays a major role in ensuring safety requirements are met at Woodlands Adventure. Darren holds numerous qualifications, some of which include climbing and paddle sport awards.
Lynne is the Office Manager at Woodlands Adventure. She has been here for 7 years and is involved in every aspect of the business.
Previously working in the retail and motor trade sectors. Lynne has considerable knowledge and experience of business administration gained over the past 22 years and holds a diploma in Leadership and Management.
Alex started at Woodlands Adventure whilst undertaking an apprenticeship in outdoor education. Alex has now completed his apprenticeship, along with other outdoor qualifications, such as level 1 coaching with British Canoeing.
Alex has a keen interest in motorbikes, as well as climbing, both indoors and outdoors.
Greg came to Woodlands in 2010 and, approximately 4 years ago, was promoted to Senior Instructor and became our Activities Manager in June 2017.
Greg first became involved in the instruction of outdoor activities in 1998 with 3D Education, before moving around Europe, instructing with Center Parcs. Greg has a strong interest in mountain biking.
Ian has been in the outdoor learning sector for 10 years, working in different activity centres and gaining experience at university, where where he obtained his degree.
Ian really enjoys working with all the different groups who attend Woodlands Adventure, and he is currently working towards his climbing wall award qualification.
Jack has worked in the outdoor industry for approximately three years whilst studying at university. Jack started at Woodlands Adventure as a seasonal instructor and has now become a full time member of our team. Jack enjoys caving, water sports and climbing.
Key has undertaken youth work since 1992. He has been a Duke of Edinburgh Award. Assessor for bronze and silver and has a Basic Expedition Leader Award. He has also worked as a special needs youth officer.
Key started working at Woodlands Adventure on a work placement in 1999, achieving an NVQ in outdoor activities. He is currently head of paddle sports with a level 3 in canoeing.
Key has paddled in the UK, France, USA and India. He has also climbed in France, Spain and Italy and has a Climbing Wall Award with an Abseil module, from the British Mountaineering Council He is currently working towards a Single Pitch Award and a Mountain Leader Award.
Rob has been being working in the outdoor industry for approximately two years. He originally worked in the film animation industry and has experienced a rich tapestry of life – which has led him to the outdoor industry which he really enjoys. Rob also started Woodlands Adventure as a seasonal instructor and has now become a full time member of our team.

You may see members of our wonderful housekeeping team in the residential buildings during your stay. Karen has worked at Woodlands Adventure for over 10 years and Sue joined the team just over a year ago.
