Chairman’s interview with BBC Radio’s Jason Rosam

Charity Tuesday, BBC Radio’s Early Breakfast Show

Jason Rosam. The Early          Breakfast Show

On the 4th of August 2020, the Chairman, Mr Jonathan Cox from the Birmingham Boys and Girls Union, trading as Woodlands Adventure and Outdoor Learning  was very kindly invited to talk about our charity, with the show’s presenter Jason Rosam, in the Charity Tuesday section on BBC Radio’s Early Breakfast Show.

Mr Cox talked out the charities history and the many benefits experienced by a vast number of  children, from all backgrounds who have visited Woodlands Adventure and Outdoor Learning over the years and of how important outdoor education is to young people.  The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on our charity with loss of income and visitors to the center, as well as the impact to our staff team.  Under the current Government legislation and guidance, the restrictions placed upon Woodlands Adventure & Outdoor Learning  has mean’t that in March this year, we have had to temporarily close the center.  All bookings for 2020 have been rescheduled  for 2021.  The Department for Education has advised schools, that residential visits are unable to take place until further notice.  We are hopeful that we may receive updated guidance to reopen for residential and day visits as soon as we possibly can.
