Educational school trips for infant and junior schools

Benefits of learning outside of the classroom

Our educational school trips, both non-residential and residential provide the perfect opportunity for pupils to grow and develop. Education outside of the classroom is key to developing well-rounded young people and creating a balanced curriculum, a fact that is both self-evident and supported by OFSTED. Outdoor learning school trips and immersion into outdoor activities is an ideal way to achieve this.

We have a range of activities suited to teach:

  • Teamwork
  • Social skills
  • Determination
  • Motivation
  • Resilience

A structured and controlled educational school trip setting

For many younger children our programmes provide their first opportunity of experiencing a true outdoor setting. Our school trips provide a structured and controlled setting for your pupils to face new challenges and develop new skills. This, in turn, leads to increased self-confidence and transfers to increased engagement levels back in the classroom.

Transferable lessons in perseverance and resourcefulness will stay with them as they develop through their education and life. The new setting creates the perfect chance for you, as a teacher, to get to know your students more closely, building up their trust and respect.

End-of-year books

These programmes are also ideal for an end-of-year activity day and photographic backdrop for an end-of-year book, especially for those soon to be moving on to the next stage of their education, to have one last exciting memory of your school, on a school trip at Woodlands.

What we offer – bespoke programmes

We offer a range of themed days, such as ‘Vikings’, which is focused around canoeing and the completion of our assault course; ‘Robin Hood’, which focuses on archery and the completion of our assault course; as well as ‘Pirate’ and ‘Native American’ themes. Alternatively, please get in touch and we would be more than happy to put together a bespoke programme suited to your particular school trips aims and requirements.

Inclusion

We take great pride in having the ability and facilities to work with anyone with any additional requirements or special educational needs. Our staff are well trained, and have extensive experience, which means they can cater for all people. We believe that everyone deserves the same treatment and experience. If you have pupils with additional needs, please get in touch and we will be more than happy to discuss any requirements.

Fun additional activities

As well as all of the outdoor activities that we have available, we also offer both circus skills and frisbee golf as an entertainment session for those aged 7-8. Please contact us for more information about the school trips we offer.
